Hospitality plays an important role in our activities and our hospitality team makes people feel welcome and seen. We also want our building and yard to be an inspiring and safe place. The hospitality teams areas of focus are hospitality, interior care and maintenance and safety.
Job tasks and duties
Place the World connects people, far and near. Because only together can we make the world fairer and more beautiful.
Our approachable volunteer organisation is an educational activity centre where we share knowledge and inspiration about a lifestyle close to nature and the world's multicolour. We do so honestly, respectfully and enjoyably. We work together with schools, churches, civil society organisations and local authorities.
Because of the growth of the organisation and the increasing number of visitors and participants in activities, we are looking for a few more hosts/hostesses.
The position of host/hostess includes:
- receiving visitors (speaking to them and offering coffee and tea).
- Making coffee and tea and ensuring the cantina is tidy and cosy.
- Giving tours or information about the various activities.
- Checkout with people who want to buy something from the workshop shop.
Job skills and qualities
We are looking for volunteers who:
- Enthusiastic about the vision and objective of Place the World.
- Have a service-oriented and friendly attitude.
- Able to interact respectfully with visitors from different backgrounds.
- Have a practical attitude and be able to work independently.
- Have good communication skills.
