AFS is a voluntary organisation; regular meetings are organised to which our regional volunteers are welcome. We also provide training for our volunteers, including on intercultural learning.
Job tasks and duties
Each year, AFS Noord Nederland receives about 17 exchange students who come to spend a school year in our country. They live with a host family and attend a secondary school. An important part of being able to participate well is language acquisition. Schools and host families support the exchange pupils in learning the Dutch language - but more support is definitely important to master Dutch quickly.
Minimum education level: havo/vwo
Job skills and qualities
- Enthusiasm.
- Dedicated.
- Able to work well with teenagers is more important than teaching experience.
