Petting zoo the Beestenborg in Ulgersmaborg has existed for almost 30 years. It is a green place where children and young people can get to know different animals. It is also a nice meeting place for young and old to get to know each other and the world of animals. Since 2014, the Beestenborg has a large playground with terrace, this playground has the NSGK seal of approval, in short a unique place for everyone!
Job tasks and duties
As an employee at petting zoo De Beestenborg, you are jointly responsible for the complete ins and outs of the petting zoo. Of course, you will not do this alone but work together with other volunteers. The tasks mainly involve taking care of the animals, cleaning the stables and maintaining the grounds.
- For weekend shifts, we expect you to be able to attend at least 1 half-day (of 4 hours) per month .
- For weekly shifts, we expect you to 1 à be able to be present 2 half-days (of 4 hours) per week. With an additional 1 half-day session per month on weekends.
Job skills and qualities
- Practical and handy minded.
- Social.
- Experience in caring for animals, or willing to learn this with an experienced carer.
Extra information
We provide a safe environment for children to play and interact with animals. The trust given by the children's parents/carers is important to us. Since August 2015, the Beestenborg has worked closely with Care Farm the Golden Raand and their clients also work at the Beestenborg.
