Job tasks and duties
As an administrator at the City Workshop, you will have a number of tasks and duties. Because we are an open workshop, and not all our customers are equally skilled, it is important that you keep an eye on things and, where necessary, can guide customers. This requires you to be able to work safely with our machines. To this end, we offer you thorough internal training.
We also lease cargo bikes. This requires making reservations, explaining the use of a cargo bike to customers and the occasional flat tyre.
Further, you will have light administrative tasks and make sure the workshop stays neat, tidy and clean.
You will preferably work 2 days a week (from 08:30 to 17:00). As we are also open on Saturdays, you will work one Saturday in rotation. This amounts to one Saturday every 5 or 6 weeks. You will work with a variety of colleagues’s. It is therefore important that you can transfer work and information well.
Minimum education level: mbo
Job skills and qualities
You do not need to be an accomplished cabinetmaker or metalworker to become a volunteer with us. However, you do need to have an affinity or interest in wood and/or metalworking. As you will be trained internally with us, we assume a long-term relationship of at least one year.
Furthermore, it is important that you can work independently, are neat and tidy and have a customer-friendly attitude. You also work well in a team.
Technical skills are of course welcome; we are still looking for volunteers who are familiar with welding (Tig/MIG/MAG/Electrode) and volunteers who are familiar with metal turning and machining. In the woodworking department, we are looking for experienced woodworkers who can handle our machines and (electric) hand tools.
Extra information
- A "participatiebaan" is among the possibilities.
- It is a voluntary job, but we do assume that a deal is a deal.
- We must be able to count on you. Should you have benefits and find a job, that will of course take precedence.
- You will rotate in after the working period on a Saturday, which amounts to one Saturday every 4 or 5 weeks, from 9am to 4pm.
- We are also open during the holidays.
