Interesting about this job
For over 50 years, De Noorderbrug has specialised in treating and supporting people with non-congenital brain injury (NAH), deafness with complex problems and chronic neurological and neuromuscular disorders (e.g. Huntington's disease and Duchenne disease). We treat and support them both at home and in one of our residential centres and talent centres. We do this mainly in the north of the country.
The clients at our residential centre like to go for a walk on Tuesday evenings, or play a game in bad weather. Unfortunately, the volunteer who helped us do this is no longer able to do so, which is why we are looking for a successor.
Job tasks and duties
You will arrive by 19:00 at the location where the clients will gather to go for a walk. From the location, you will walk for an hour, finishing with coffee or tea. As a volunteer, you will help where necessary. Around 20:30 the activity ends.
Job skills and qualities
Our clients are deaf or hard of hearing. It is not a requirement, but should you know or want to learn some gestures, that would be very nice.
Extra information
Please feel free to call or email our volunteer coordinator Rudi Nijmeijer for more information about this call, our organisation or other volunteering opportunities with us.
