Interesting about this job
One of the oldest Red Cross services offered worldwide is Restoring Family Links (RFL). RFL falls under the Migration and Restoring Family Links department and is managed from the Society office in The Hague. A total of six volunteer teams operate in the country: in Groningen, Arnhem, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam and Eindhoven. For our team in Groningen, we are looking for a team leader who would like to contribute to this special Red Cross service. The team in Groningen works on Mondays.
The Red Cross helps search for missing relatives and restore contact. With the Red Cross' international network, we can search worldwide if the situation allows. Would you like to contribute in finding and reconnecting family members? Then this position at Restoring Family Links (RFL) might be for you!
As an RFL volunteer, together with a fellow RFL volunteer, you will receive an aid applicant at a Red Cross office. These conversations are usually through an interpreter. In these conversations, you gather information for a potential search. In the process, you also inform the aid applicant about the (im)possibilities of RFL services. You offer a listening ear and encourage people who need help to keep looking for themselves with search tips. Together with your fellow volunteer on the file, you are responsible for the administration of search requests in the CRM registration system. You maintain contact with help applicants and also with the professionals in the Migration and Restoring Family Links department about the progress of a help request. You will ensure that the (interim) results of the assistance request are fed back.
