Via Humanitas you can do a lot as a buddy.
Job tasks and duties
With 1-2 hours' time a week, you can play an important role as a volunteer buddy. Together, we will look at what you would like to do and who suits you best. Your presence brightens someone's day and that in itself is a wonderful goal. The contact with a volunteer who gives positive attention can also help someone to take a step forward and make some contacts themselves.
If you are interested in a specific subject or target group, you are also very welcome with us. Think about:
- Support for loss/mourning.
- Dementia.
- Aid with administration.
- Supporting someone with mental vulnerability.
- Doing practical chores in someone's home.
- Support in the last phase of life.
- Being a buddy to someone at the Mesdag clinic.

Job skills and qualities
In general, you will get very far if you possess the following skills:
- You are a good listener and are interested in the other person.
- You can establish and maintain contact with someone independently.
- You try to meet the other person's demand and do not give (unsolicited) advice.
Extra information
You will be supported in your volunteer work by a coordinator and can attend regular meetings to discuss your experiences and questions or to learn skills!
