You can be of significance to vulnerable people in society. Mentoring is a legal measure designed for people who can no longer look after their personal interests. These people (clients) are vulnerable and they deserve protection by someone to formally assist them. As a board member, you create the conditions so that volunteers and employees can do this work well.
Job tasks and duties
Together with other board members, you steer the organisation. The board sets policy and is ultimately responsible. Each board member brings his/her own expertise. From that expertise, board members take on tasks. The board works on a voluntary basis and usually meets once a month in Drachten. You contribute actively to the development and direction of the foundation. With your experience, you are an addition to the team in the further growth of the organisation.
Minimum education level: hbo/wo
Job skills and qualities
- Administrative, policy-oriented working and thinking level.
- Affinity with the objective of the foundation.
- Knowledge of healthcare.
- Social organisation of volunteers.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- Creative.
- Average availability of 2 to 4 hours per week.
Extra information
The working area of Mentoring Noord stretches across Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe. The organisation consists of two part-time coordinators and over 100 volunteers. Mentoring Noord is one of 11 foundations in the Netherlands and works together within the umbrella Mentoring Netherlands.
