Job tasks and duties
We are looking for two volunteers with autism to each lead an online conversation group by the end of March 2025.
You will lead a 75-minute online discussion group once every fortnight from the end of March 2025. There will be 10 meetings in total. A maximum of 8 participants will participate. There will be a holiday break during the summer holidays.
You will lead the Explore your autism group. In this group, you will explore with participants what autism means to them in concrete terms. Participants may have just received an autism diagnosis, or be revisiting the diagnosis and have questions. What does it mean in practice that I have autism? What use is a diagnosis to me? How can I cope with my autism?
The discussion group is informal in nature and is not counselling or therapy. The aim of the meetings is to exchange experiences and learn from each other. You lead the group alone, but the first few times you do so together with the coordinator. You can always call on the coordinator and the board if you have any questions.
What are the tasks?
Before the first meeting, you plan a short introductory meeting (of ±15 minutes) with each individual participant who registers via Teams.
Before each meeting, you prepare the content. You do this on the basis of a script.
During the meeting, you lead the conversation and make sure everyone comes into their own.
You will send an invitation to participants by e-mail before each meeting.
After each meeting, you send them a brief summary of what you discussed.

You have a functioning microphone, webcam and internet connection.
You are familiar with Teams or are willing to learn to work with it.
