Extra information
We are rebuilding an old Groningen plane from 1911, the Helpman 1. Our aim with the plane is to encourage the pioneering spirit in Groningen. And to make residents familiar with this beautiful plane that was one of the first to fly in the Netherlands. We are proud, because our first model, scale 1:10, really flies!
After the 1:10 model, we start with a 1:3 scale for study and to be able to build the replica step by step, because we don't have an "old" technical drawing at our disposal. We design everything ourselves, with the help of photos and similar aircraft from that time. For the future, we are looking at a hydrogen-powered aircraft engine. Then we will have a wooden plane from 1911 powered on hydrogen anno now, oet Grunn!
