Job tasks and duties

On the basis of hospitality, you will supervise the public in the nature reserves that fall under the management unit Groningen & Noord-Drenthe and ensure compliance with laws and rules in accordance with Natuurmonumenten's supervision and enforcement policy.

You will inform visitors about Natuurmonumenten's rules and policy and, if necessary, take corrective action or issue fines for the benefit of nature goals and recreational (co-use).

You will register incidents in the BOA registration system and report incidents and trends to the relevant colleagues from the management unit.

You will also work in the event of any incidents.

If necessary, you will also work together with supervisors and BOAs from other land management organisations, provinces and municipalities.

Job skills and qualities

You will work on a mutually agreed work schedule, of at least four shifts per month, two of which will be on a weekend. We expect a minimum time commitment of 4 hours per week. Participation in the necessary annual trainings, exams and meetings is part of this, such as the Permanent Retraining and In-service Training (PHB) and Regeling Toetsing Geweldsbeheersing (RTGB). These trainings are paid for by Natuurmonumenten.

What you bring

  • Preferably experience as a BOA (preferably within domain II);
  • Minimum driving licence B;
  • An active public-friendly attitude with a service-oriented nature;
  • Good communication skills;
  • You can handle complaints/aggression well. You perform work in which resistance must sometimes be overcome and conflict management is involved;
  • Good communication skills
