Humanitas department Groningen City provides services in the areas of welfare, housing and care. Volunteers are at the heart of these activities. Our aim is for everyone to be able to participate fully in society. Every year, around 3,000 volunteers give 6,000 participants a helping hand on their way to self-reliance.

For a lady, we are looking for someone to talk to her and do fun things together. By showing understanding and bringing some cheerfulness, you can offer this lady some light-hearted moments.
Job tasks and duties
A woman in her mid-70s struggles with chronic illness. She does voluntary work herself and also has people around her, but minus her environment she lacks understanding of her situation. As a result, she sometimes feels alone and life feels tough for her. Yet Ms herself is optimistic and not heavy-handed. She would like to meet a volunteer who has a listening ear, but can also provide some fun moments in life. Going to the cinema, doing something fun outside the house or playing a game together. The volunteer may also be a younger person.
Job skills and qualities
- You can offer a listening ear.
- You are not shocked when someone is sometimes at a loss about life.
- You have time to visit weekly and sometimes do some fun out of the house.
