Job tasks and duties

As a volunteer Reading Coordinator, you will meet children who could use help with language and volunteers who want to work as a reading aloud volunteer. Based on wishes and personalities, you try to make good matches between volunteers and children. You then remain the point of contact for the volunteers and occasionally check how the contact is going. You process all this in our registration system on your computer.

With the Read Aloud project, children are playfully helped in their language development when parents are not (well) able to do this themselves. Volunteers read to children at home, play (language) games with them or undertake other activities in which communication is important. Fun in language is paramount! The reading aloud project is for children aged 3 to 12 years old.

"When I lock my bike, he is already enthusiastically calling my name. First he tells stories about school and football. Then we read and play games. He is really improving."

Would you like to help facilitate these valuable encounters?
