From 13 to 15 December, the dark days before Christmas, some 20 atmospherically lit historic ships on the Hoge, Lage and Kleine der A, the Pottebakkersrijge and the Sluiskade will form the fairy-tale backdrop for the city's most enjoyable winter event: WinterWelVaart.
A number of ships, Museumcafé Het Pomphuis, Museum aan de A, the der Aa-Theater and the Akerk are packed with performances. From music to theatre and from lectures and exhibitions to creative workshops.
This is how we bring an Ode to Groningen.
For this FREE event, which we are organising for the 17th time this year, we are looking for volunteers. You can be there!
Job tasks and duties
Help with the set-up and take-down of WinterWelVaart.
Some 20 historic ships will dock on 13 to 15 December, and stages will be built and there will be a market. All sorts of things are needed for this.
In an enthusiastic and hard-working team, you will ensure that everything is in the right place before the festival.
After the event you will help to clear everything away again.
