Interesting about this job
The Youth Education Working Group organises and supervises nature activities for children in and around Visitors' Centre Reitdiep. The working group consists of 15 to 20 volunteers who - usually in pairs - supervise an activity. Examples of programmes include: collecting vomit balls, ditch excursion and nest box carpentry. And do you have your own ideas for new activities? How nice! We will help you develop them.
Job tasks and duties
We organise activities at weekends and during school holidays. On weekdays we also welcome whole school classes for a teaching programme at the visitor centre. However, during the busy period (spring/early summer) we ask for a minimum of one half-day (approx. 3 hours) per week.
Job skills and qualities
We are looking for people with a heart for nature, who enjoy making children enthusiastic about nature too. Extensive knowledge of nature is welcome, but not necessary. It is especially important that you enjoy working with (groups of) children.
