Coordinator: friendly visit

At Humanitas we have a large number of buddy projects. For friendly visits, we are looking for a volunteer coordinator.
Elders or people who are often housebound due to illness regularly report to Humanitas because they would like a volunteer to visit them. As a volunteer coordinator, you play an important role:

• Meet with participants to find out who they are and what they are looking for in a buddy (and whether we as Humanitas can offer that).
• Meeting new volunteers to hear what makes them happy and what they would like to do as a volunteer.
• Seek the right matches between participants and volunteers.
• Support the volunteers and participants, you will be their first point of contact if there is anything.
• Consult with fellow volunteer coordinators (monthly meeting and in between occasionally via email/app/teams).

You are not alone, but work together in a team with other volunteer coordinators and a Humanitas project coordinator. Training, supervision and insurance are also arranged by Humanitas.

• You are interested in people.
• You enjoy listening and asking questions.
• You like to think along with people, but can also set boundaries.
• You like to introduce and connect people with each other.
• You can get on with the computer, internet and mail well enough that you can regularly do light administration.
• Not a skill but useful: you have some flexibility in when you can schedule appointments with volunteers/participants.
