Job tasks and duties

We host a webinar on autism in adults about twice a month. We are looking for volunteers with autism to give a webinar.

Such a webinar is based on personal experience of having autism, possibly supplemented by other knowledge about autism. We deliver the webinars through Webinargeek. To cover costs, we ask for a small monetary fee (free for minima).

We are currently mainly looking for people who want to develop their own webinar on a topic that interests you and is related to autism. You will develop the webinar yourself, but the rest of the working group will think along and support. You tell in the webinar about your own experience with autism, possibly supplemented by knowledge you have about the topic. You first give the webinar once internally, after which you get feedback. When the webinar is ready for publication, it will be scheduled in consultation with you two or three times a year.

You can additionally participate as a co-host. As co-host, you host and announce the presenter. In addition, you monitor the chat during a webinar. You take stock of the questions, see which question can best be answered in which round and ask the presenter. For questions that you can answer yourself, you will respond directly in the chat.

You will monitor the webinar.

What are the tasks?

  • You will develop a webinar on autism in adults in just autumn 2024 and give it in 2025
  • You attend the working group meeting once a month, which lasts 1 hour and takes place via Zoom, on a weekday evening.
  • You show interest in other working group members' webinars and regularly join a LIVE webinar.
  • A few times a year, you attend a trial presentation of a new webinar and provide feedback on it.
  • You will think about new presentations developed by other members of the working group.
  • You will respond within three days to group messages from the coordinator via email or whatsapp

Job skills and qualities

  • It is important that you can narrate well and get something across to others.
  • You have a well-functioning computer, webcam and microphone.
  • You are reliable: if you say you will be there, you will be there.

To be a volunteer at Autism Digital

We are looking for new people to join our team with their unique competences and skills. We want to create an environment where all talents can flourish to their maximum potential, regardless of gender, age, cultural origin, nationality or disability. Work is not optional, but we put as little pressure on it as possible. You can always turn to the rest of the team if you are at a loss for words.

Because we are an organisation for and by autistic adults, we do not take on volunteers who are under 18 or who are not autistic themselves. This allows us to safeguard volunteer experience placements for autistic adults and keeps our activities based on our own experience of having autism as an adult.

Extra information

Are you interested? Then contact Annelies. She will contact you within 3 days (excluding holidays). She will then make an appointment with you for an interview via Zoom. You will then have an interview with Annelies and the coordinator of the relevant working group.
