Looking for refugees

Discriminatie Meldpunt Groningen • job opening nr. 13986

Interesting about this job

You will engage in conversation with people based on your own story. This way, you can give others something to share about what it is like to flee. You talk to many people of different levels, you teach them something. Your experience can open another person's eyes to prevent discrimination. Stereotypes and prejudices are reduced this way.

Job tasks and duties

For our workshop/guest lesson 'Fled' we are looking for people who have themselves fled to the Netherlands.

Together with a professional educator you will visit schools of all levels. This can be a primary school but also an MBO or HBO. On the basis of an introduction on the subject and questions the students will ask you, you will start the conversation.

Job skills and qualities

Able to talk well about your experience but, also able to listen carefully to what students ask. Conversation skills are paramount, but you are never alone. Our staff will guide the conversation and make adjustments if necessary. It is also possible to be inducted and watch other volunteers in advance.
