You will work as a volunteer at Labyrinth, a school where students decide for themselves what they want to learn and how. 'Heart-centred education', we call it. So you will work with a highly motivated do-group, and in a team of coaches, (volunteer) teachers and others who are enthusiastically shaping and implementing this new initiative. In short: a wonderful place to share your knowledge and skills!
Job tasks and duties
As a teacher, you will teach a group of students on a fixed half-day per week (by mutual agreement), who will be engaged in your subject over a period of about three months. Groups vary in size from two to ten students and are composed on the basis of interests. The pupils are at different levels and of different ages, so you can, especially as the groups are relatively small, teach very specifically, depending on the pupils learning questions. Whether you use a fixed method or design your own lessons, that is all negotiable!
Minimum education level: hbo/wo
Job skills and qualities
As a teacher at Labyrinth, we expect you to have a first- or second-degree teaching qualification. Furthermore, we assume that you dare to think and act outside the box, and that you enjoy working in an environment that is new, dynamic and innovative in terms of teaching methods.
