In the event of a disaster or crisis situation the Red Cross Population Care team stands ready to provide assistance to those affected. In this way the Red Cross supports municipalities in their population care tasks. The team can be deployed, for example, when evacuating and sheltering residents after a fire or flood or when sheltering people during a tragic event. We offer a listening ear and look for suitable solutions together with all parties. You ensure that team leaders and relief workers can carry out their work in the best possible way.
Job tasks and duties
- You take care of a trained team of emergency responders within the district and support the team as much as possible.
- You regularly consult with the team's leaders and the coördinator of Emergency Services about, for example, training and exercise needs.
- You participate in preparation of strategy, execution and evaluation of the exercises.
- If your team is deployed you will liaise with the Emergency Coordinator, identify bottlenecks and help find solutions.
- During a deployment you work together from the Red Cross action centre in a regional staff.
Minimum education level: mbo
Job skills and qualities
- You can take the lead and you're capable of making decisions.
- You are communicative, able to motivate and excite the team.
- You can assess situations well and thereby improvise, prioritise én execute.
- You have a flexible working environment in case of emergency.
