In that case"De Opstap" might be something for you! It is a homely and cosy guesthouse in Groningen for five guests.
The guesthouse welcomes guests who:
- Cannot rely on a carer for a while, such as a partner or family member because he/she needs a break for him/herself
- Persons who would like to go home after hospitalisation but cannot yet rely sufficiently on their partner, family, neighbours or friends or for other reasons.
Job tasks and duties
Together with other volunteers, you will make sure our guests feel at home in "de Opstap".
You will do this by:
- Offering a listening ear, having a chat, playing a game, watching TV together, shopping, cooking and eating together; being there when there is something. In short, just like being at home. Special knowledge of care is not necessary.
- The home is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
- You can schedule yourself on the planning.
Job skills and qualities
We don't ask for a degree. We do ask:
- To be able to deal well with people (the guests and your colleagues).
- To create a nice and relaxed atmosphere for the guests and yourself so that it is a pleasant stay.
- Able to be hospitable.
- An open attitude.
Extra information
There is a schedule to ensure continuity for guests and volunteers. Filling in yourself also means that you can make your own choices; swapping between them is of course allowed.
