Job tasks and duties
De Weide Blik offers activating day care to people with mental disabilities. Between 2 and 4 clients work in the wood workshop. The wood workshop has a complete range of tools for both manual and mechanical work. In the wood workshop, participants make all kinds of products. Among other things, we make crates, flower boxes, various promotional gifts, chairs, benches, various kinds of birdhouses and decorations such as Christmas ornaments.
Please note that you will be working in the woodworking shop.
What are your duties?
- Supervise the participants as they work.
- Seek help with performance problems.
- Help with tidying up and cleaning.
- Other hands-on services.
Minimum education level: mbo
Job skills and qualities
- You are reliable and well-groomed.
- You have an affinity with people with disabilities.
- You are patient and can explain things calmly.
- You have a feel for woodworking.
- You can work independently and you communicate with your colleagues about the work.
Extra information
- By cooperating and by your example behaviour, you will help in guiding our participants in the activities.
- We find it important that you fit in with the existing group. After an introductory meeting, you will join us for a few half-days to see what we can do for each other.
- If, after a participation period, you prove to have professional knowledge and coaching skills, a volunteer allowance is negotiable (if there s no pathway opportunity). We will only make final agreements on this after a short participation period.
