You get to know many different cultures, you get to know people you probably d not have met otherwise. You help people get started in the Netherlands by teaching them the language.
Job tasks and duties
As a language volunteer, you will support the qualified NT2 teacher. Sometimes you work with a number of students in a small group, sometimes you go outside with a specific assignment, sometimes you help people on the laptop.
Minimum education level: havo/vwo
Job skills and qualities
Preferably you have a teaching background, but this is not required. What you do need is empathy, lots of patience and a sense of humour.
Extra information
Many of our participants have had little or no schooling, don't expect extensive grammar explanations. We focus on speaking Dutch and we practice a lot with practical situations.
Lessons are held in the community centre the Semmelstee and on the Oldebarneveldlaan.
