In addition to swimming, we therefore organise regular activities for all our members and for our officials. For example, every year the members go on a weekend trip, we organise day trips and we also turn our general members' meeting into an enjoyable New Year's reception.
Do you now find it fun and challenging to make children swimming safe? Then you're in the right place at the Watervrienden Groningen. We offer you a fun volunteer job as well as all the swimming education opportunities, which we arrange (and pay) for you! As a teacher, you can also swim with us at a discount in the recreational or fitness group.
Job tasks and duties
The cosiest swimming club in Groningen is still looking for a few enthusiastic swimming instructors for various target groups. We give swimming lessons to children aged 4 and over who have just started swimming, but there are also adults who want to swim laps. We are mainly looking for instructors who enjoy teaching beginners and children who are going for the swimming ABC. Our swimming lessons for these target groups take place on Thursdays between 18:00 and 19:00 and Fridays from 18:45 to 19.45.

In addition, there is half-hour fitness swimming on Mondays and Thursdays. There is also recreational swimming for adults on Thursdays and our synchronised swimming team also swims on Fridays.
Job skills and qualities
We are looking for swimming instructors with a qualification to teach swimming with preferably a first aid diploma. But if you don't have this yet, you can always apply too! We also offer the possibility to obtain this qualification and can always discuss this. Furthermore, it is important that you enjoy working with children and are not afraid to point out the rules properly.
