Job tasks and duties
On the terrace of the Plutozaal, Plutolaan Groningen, the vegetable garden project started in 2022. This is a collaboration between the Paddepoel neighbourhood Cocreation, SSH and Lentis. Area residents, including clients and students, are collectively involved in the vegetable garden. This vegetable garden is a public picking garden for the neighbourhood and at the same time a meeting place.
We have started by means of a public garden.
We started using the concept of Easy Kitchen Garden https://makkelijkemoestuin.nl/. There are two vegetable garden bins and a green space is available. We are looking for a coordinator who can make the planting plan and provide further info and adjustment. In the beginning of the growing season it is a bit more work, but once it is running there is not so much work. Furthermore, it can be extended with all kinds of activities yet to be developed; info day, communal meal, etc. Within our support team, there are also enthusiastic colleagues who want to work and think along. Extra information
We work closely with Cocreatie Paddepoel, Wijkpaleis and community workers from the WIJ team. There are also contacts with housing association De Huismeesters and SSH. There are plans to connect the vegetable garden project with the surrounding area, such as with the pond and Bernlef; you could also contribute to this. It's up to you to make it as big as you want.
