Interesting about this job
You will guide people through the International Clog Museum who have an image of clogs, but will be surprised at this Museum.
You will work as a volunteer in a very friendly team.
Job tasks and duties
The International Clog Museum in Eelde is looking for volunteers who would like to be trained internally as tour guides at this unique Museum.
You will first walk along with various tour guides and of course you will also read up well and ask lots of questions.
After training, you and a dyed-in-the-wool tour guide will first give guided tours to small groups of 10 people or more. Later, the groups may vary in size.
With larger groups, you will also help the hosts set up the tables and chairs in the coffee room.
Job skills and qualities
We think it is important that:
- A tour guide is hospitable;
- He/she is communicative and open;
- He/she is a storyteller, because that is what tour guides are;
- He/she is helpful because groups of people also visit the Museum with walkers and wheelchairs;
It would be nice if you are proficient in English, German or French in addition to Dutch.
Extra information
There are no set times for giving tours.
Groups can be there at 10am in the morning. You will then be there together with the hostesses/hosts 1 hour beforehand to get everything ready and check if everything is working.
Groups actually visit the Museum at varying times.
School classes, from group 1-2 upwards, also visit the Museum.
