You will come into contact with a relatively new sport in the Netherlands. Together with your 'colleagues', you will manage matches between teams of up to 40 people. Fortunately, there are never more than 11 per team on the pitch. Besides you will develop yourself through free courses of the American Football Association Netherlands (AFBN).
Job tasks and duties
As an American Football Association Netherlands (AFBN) referee, you will travel around the country on Saturdays or Sundays to (eventually) referee games at Eredivisie and First Division level together with four other colleagues. This will bring you into contact with other referees and a new, exciting and complex sport.
For every game flown, there is a volunteer allowance.
Prior knowledge of American Football is not necessary! The AFBN organises referee courses every year. In addition, in consultation, sports association Groningen Giants will bear the costs for all your referee supplies!
Job skills and qualities
- You can work together in a team of 4 à 5 people.
- You like a (new) challenge.
