Interesting about this job
Do you think it is important that all children in the Netherlands get equal opportunities and do you enjoy working with children? Then this vacancy is for you! You will make a social commitment and work on your own development at the same time. You will learn how to manage a project and you will have space to develop your own talents. Furthermore, it is very interesting for your network, as you work together with parties such as the municipality, companies and schools.
Job tasks and duties
The Move Foundation pairs a group of students with a group 7 or a group 8 of a primary school. In doing so, we focus specifically on children who have fewer opportunities than their peers. If you participate in a Move project, you'll have responsibility together with the children for devising and implementing a social project. The ideas and talents of the children are at the forefront here: together with the students, they boost their neighbourhood in 4 to 6 months. For example, they organise a games afternoon for the elderly, create a work of art in the neighbourhood or carry out an environmental campaign together with local residents. Afterwards, the children are super proud of what they have achieved based on their own talents and ideas.
Before the project starts, you willl receive training on the content of the project and didactic training, so that you are fully prepared to stand in front of the group. The teacher will of course be present in the classroom. In total, you will have seven meetings with the children, including five lessons in front of the class, one student outing where the children learn about what it means to study and of course a smashing finale where the children perform/unveil their project festively in the neighbourhood. During the project, you will be supervised by a project coördinator from the Move Foundation.
We are currently looking for three more student committees for two classes at 't Karrepad (Korrewegwijk) and one class at the Heerdstee (Beijum). These projects will start in March!
