Job tasks and duties
Always wanted to work in a school helping students? You are enthusiastic about reading and books yourself. You have some spare hours during the week and are looking for something fun to do.
Then sign up as a volunteer in our library!
- Tasks: registering the lending and collection of books.
- helping students find a book or information.
- Supervising the media library and workstations.
- Keeping the media library neat and orderly.
- Attend to cash administration in case of fine, printing, copying, etc.
Minimum education level: havo/vwo
Job skills and qualities
- Able to communicate openly and positively with young people.
- Knowledge and understanding of cultural differences.
- Some knowledge of/affinity with Youth and adult literature, passion for books/Reading.
- Computer skills.
- Able to work diligently and independently.
- Able to act assertively (e.g. addressing students when rules are broken)
- Not required, but a plus: understanding the purpose of a multimedia library.
Extra information
Please do not respond if you are "required" to volunteer due to benefits. The media library is open from 08:30 -16:30, so please bear this start and end time in mind, depending on whether you want to work mornings or afternoons. Because of the departure of a volunteer, we are looking for someone from 1 June 2024, for Tuesdays 14:30 -16:30 and Wednesdays 9:00 -13:00 .
