As a Play Ambassador, you can actively spend the summer in different neighbourhoods in Groningen. It's a fun way to get in touch with (new) people, develop yourself socially and you commit to the children of Groningen who normally can't go on holiday. With your help, you will all have a fantastic summer!
Job tasks and duties
As a Play Ambassador, you will accompany children (6-12 years old) during the Play Festival organised in various neighbourhoods in Groningen. During the Play Festival all kinds of different activities will be organised, such as sports activities, water activities, games, creative activities, you name it. You will assist the children. You will also get the chance to help develop the programme. Anyone aged 18 or over can make use of the camping facility in the city of Groningen. Guiding is done in groups, so you can also sign up with your friends! The Play Festival takes place in different districts, during the summer holidays.
Job skills and qualities
- Affinity with children.
- Age 15 to 27 years old.
- Organising and supervising children's activities.
- Creatively thinking about playful activities as part of a team.
- Communication (enthusing children and parents).
- Logistics (ordering play materials, making décor, etc.).
- Organisation (thinking along about the future of the project, evaluating involved parties, etc.)
- Possibility to help prepare the project.
Extra information
You must be available for at least 2 weeks, but it would be even nicer if you come and help out for several weeks! It will be four days a week from Monday to Thursday.
