Interesting about this job
You gain priceless (life) experience and can make a difference to a child or young person by giving your attention and time. During our basic training and in-depth meetings you will be prepared for possible dilemmas and difficult situations and share your beautiful and difficult experiences with other host families. A coordinator will support you in word and deed.
Job tasks and duties
Can you do something for a child or young person (0 - 23 years old) who needs a ‘home in another house’? We are looking for host families who want to open up their home and heart and give attention, time and space.
A host family provides an opportunity for a child or young person to participate in everyday family life. These are children experiencing difficulties or stress in the home situation, or staying in an institution and missing a home. A host family can also offer support to a young refugee. This can be an afternoon a week, a weekend a month, a holiday week or any other period. It depends on what the family wants to offer and what the child needs. How many people make up your household is not important.
Job skills and qualities
We require host families with an open mind and affinity for children and/or young people, who are flexible and energetic.
