Job tasks and duties

After a divorce, every child has a right to contact with both parents. This is important for the child's balanced development and well-being. Divorced parents are legally obliged to draw up a parenting plan. Part of this includes making an access arrangement.
In practice, however, drawing up or complying with such an access arrangement is not always easy. In such situations, Humanitas volunteers can be helpful. BOR Humanitas focuses on supporting divorced parents in realising a visitation arrangement. The interests of the child are paramount. There is cooperation with both parents on the basis of equality. In principle, the support lasts six months.

  • Meeting with parents and child and agreeing on visitation.
  • Informing parents about the rules of conduct around contact.
  • Have a role in the transfer of the child from one parent to the other.
  • Be present during coping and ensure a positive relaxed, fun atmosphere where parent and child feel free.
  • Evaluate the progress of coping with both parents and, if possible, extend agreements in such a way as to work towards self-reliance.
  • Summary reporting for own use.
  • Work meetings with colleagues.
  • Training.
