Job tasks and duties
Weekly you will visit this family. You talk to the child there read aloud and read together and do language games. The parents are at home.
The 8-year-old boy cannot remember words very well. During reading aloud, his mother and sister are also at home. Father sometimes.
Who wants to help this little fellow further in the world of language? Gladly with a joke and lots of games!
Job skills and qualities
You can speak and (pre-)read Dutch yourself and enjoy dealing with young children.
Can cope with an energetic child.
Extra information
A reading aloud volunteer from Humanitas will first have an introductory meeting with volunteer coordinator Okkie. Afterwards, you will get to know the family together. He remains available in the background for questions and ideas. As a volunteer, you receive an introductory reading session. Online training courses are available for you. We also organise regular thematic and informal meetings for inspiration and to meet other reading aloud volunteers.
